Storyline: This is the classic plot of the old Red Riding Hood story but narrated by the wolf itself. We get to see the world through this bad wolf’s eyes. From the beginning he has an excuse for his actions: he is hungry. He claims that he really likes apples but as is wasn’t apple harvest time and as his cupboards, gardens, and even the freezer were empty he was starving. Then he sniffed Red Riding Hood coming through the woods, bringing cake to her grandma. So, driven by the growling stomach he tricked her and her Granny and ate them. He is not sorry for his abominable act part of it being that he sees them as vain and infatuated, only preoccupied with their beauty. And as he finishes of Red Riding Hood he noticed that she was rotten. But after all, he got to eat the cake for desert.

Illustration: Gerald Guerlais is the illustrator of this book. I would say that his illustration emphasize clarity, color and proportion. His colors are solid and create a feeling of plenitude. This combined with the finesse of his line and you get and distinct and unforgettable illustration
